Yes, this really happened!!

Taking off from my town, in a lawn chair with 105 helium filled weather balloons attached, Ken Couch floated from Bend, Oregon 193 miles to Union, Oregon - near the Idaho border.

This picture shows the central Cascade mountains - Broken Top and the Three Sisters - and the smoke from the wildfires we have had this year.
