Fisher House

On my sidebar, I have a link to Fisher House. This is an amazing organization, and one I support. Fisher Houses are built and operated with private funds.

Currently, there are 35 Fisher Houses on the grounds of military and VA medical centers across America. They also have 2 houses at Landstuhl, Germany. Lodging is provided free to the family members, so that they might be near their loved ones while they are hospitalized.

Because members of the military and their families are stationed worldwide and must often travel great distances for specialized medical care, Fisher House™ Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.

Fisher House was founded by Zachary Fisher. His is a story worth reading!!!

For those with combat casualties, Fisher House has provided lodging for families and for the wounded on an out-patient basis.

More than 110,000 families have been served with over 2 million lodging days. It has saved military families over $90 million.
